Strategic Communications Fellow

The Strategic Communications Fellow plays a critical role in supporting Equanimity Foundation’s Strategic Communications team. The Strategic Communications Fellow will be responsible for drafting articles, op-eds, and press releases; growing EQF’s subject matter expert and media relations network; and assisting with the creation of revamped communications guidelines. The Social Media Fellow will also assist in updating the style guide, maintaining the social media content calendar, and proofreading EQF content before publication. This role falls under the EQF Global Fellows Program.

Detailed Tasks & Responsibilities

  • Work alongside the Strategic Communications team to help create and execute communications strategies

  • Draft press releases, articles, op-eds; and transcribe audio and visual content for EQF publications including Spotlight and the in-house publication, Inclusive Discourse

  • Network with EQF contacts to invite guest writers for EQF publications including Spotlight and in-house publication, Inclusive Discourse

  • Assist with building and maintaining a comprehensive social media content calendar

  • Collaborate as needed with other teams to ensure communications strategy fits into broader marketing strategy and goals

  • Work with the Strategic Communications team to build media relations

  • Work with the Strategic Communications team to revamp the style guide and copy guide

Skills Required

  • Majoring or a recent graduate in business, marketing, journalism, advertising, public relations, English, or a communications-related field; Graduate-level applicant highly preferred

  • 1+ years of related experience

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Comfortable with content creation and project management programs such as Asana, Canva, Slack, etc.

  • Fluency in English

  • Fluency in another language is highly desirable but not required

  • Clearly articulates ideas and thoughts verbally and in writing

  • Accurately prepares written materials that are coherent, grammatically correct, effective and professional

  • Listens to others and accepts input from team members
