Statement from Equanimity Foundation on the 500,000 deaths from COVID-19 in the United States:
Today, we mourn the deaths of more than 500,000 victims from the COVID-19 pandemic. The last 12 months have been tremendously hard for humanity as we battled an invisible enemy that has caused great pain and suffering for families across the United States and throughout the world.
Although the road to recovery seems afar, we hope that with the new vaccination process and continued cooperation with bio-security standards, we will overcome these difficult times. We must gather our strength as a country and maintain our hope, even in the direst situations.
At Equanimity Foundation (EQF), we are defined both in name and practice by resilience in the face of adversity. Every day we see countless examples of the resilience needed to prevail. From those who have locked at-home orders to others working on the frontlines to help curtail the pandemic, we must stay the course with social distancing and caring for each other. Thanks to all the frontline heroes, we have methods to better control the disease, but we must all do our part to prevent more lives from being lost.
Uncertainty is part of life, but together we will overcome. In time, we will reflect on this period and know that we came out of it wiser, stronger, and more resilient.
